Early Learning Counties Manukau - Wattle Cove is situated in a small growing community in Wattle Cove in Manurewa. We are surrounded by small reserves the beach and many parks. We are a high quality, well resourced Early learning Centre well-staffed with qualified, registered teachers and teachers in training. We enrol children from 6 months – 5 years old, offering enrolment attendance from 2-5 days per week.
Here at Early Learning Counties Manukau - Wattle Cove, we invite you and your whānau (family) to experience an environment that welcomes individuality and promotes lifelong learning. We value you as part of our centre and encourage you to be involved in your child’s journey through their preschool years. We look forward to building relationships so that together we can collaboratively create valued learning opportunities for your child. Our environment is a place where children have the opportunity to make their own choices and are affirmed as capable and independent learners.
Our centre is inspired by the Pikler and Reggio theories and approaches. These embrace love and respect where children develop at their own pace and inquiry learning. The environment is structured so children have the freedom of choice and the opportunity to explore the environment in an unhurried manner. Teachers support children’s inquiry learning and together become co-researchers.
ELCM-Wattle Cove and surrounding schools have built relationships and communications to enhance the development of positive ongoing transitions to school for all children attending our centre.
Te Whāriki, the New Zealand early childhood curriculum underpins programme planning along with ongoing individual assessment, documentation and planning for children. It encompasses the cultural heritage of both partners to Te Tiriti O Waitangi.
